Zanzibar & Coast
Where the Ocean Holds its Own Stories
An Island That Has Always Known How to Welcome Strangers
Zanzibar is not simply a beach destination. It is a living archive of trade winds, spice routes, and layered civilizations — where the coral stone alleyways of Stone Town hold the weight of centuries, and the reefs offshore pulse with life in water so clear it feels like flying.
The Tanzania coast extends this story northward and southward — fishing villages, dhow journeys, tidal estuaries, and islands where marine conservation has given the ocean a chance to recover. We design coastal itineraries that go deeper than a beach holiday: slower, more textured, shaped by the rhythms of the Swahili world.
Zanzibar Island
Spice, Stone & The Sea
Five days that move through Zanzibar's different registers — from the dense, atmospheric lanes of Stone Town, through clove and cinnamon farms in the island's interior, to the pristine beaches of the north and east. Each day reveals a different dimension of an island that rewards curiosity.
Includes: Stone Town guided walk, spice farm tour, Jozani Forest (home of the red colobus monkey), dolphin swim at Kizimkazi, sunset dhow cruise, and beach days at Nungwi or Paje.

An extra day transforms the Zanzibar experience — allowing for a sandbank picnic off the northeast coast, a longer dive or snorkel session at Mnemba Atoll, or simply more time to settle into the island's unhurried pace.
Builds on the 5-day itinerary with options to add a day trip to Prison Island (Changuu), evening cooking class with a local family, or a private snorkeling excursion at Mnemba Atoll — one of the finest coral systems in the Indian Ocean.

Mainland Shores & Swahili Life
The Tanzania mainland coast is less visited than Zanzibar but equally rich — a string of small towns, ancient ruins, and fishing communities that have looked out to sea for centuries. This itinerary explores the coast's human geography as much as its natural beauty.
Includes Bagamoyo — once East Africa's most important trading port, now a UNESCO tentative site — the ruins of Kaole, traditional dhow building yards, and overnight at a small coastal lodge where the beach belongs almost entirely to you.
Plan This JourneyMafia Island
Tanzania's Quiet Marine Sanctuary
Mafia Island Marine Park is one of the most significant coral ecosystems in the western Indian Ocean — and one of the least visited. The waters here support whale sharks year-round, vast schools of reef fish, and coral gardens in extraordinary health.
This is a destination for those who prioritize the underwater world. Days are built around diving and snorkeling the different reef systems, with the possibility of swimming alongside whale sharks (seasonal), kayaking the mangrove channels, and evenings at a small eco-lodge that treads lightly on the island.
